Our mission is to provide a hockey team for local firefighters, EMS workers, and other first responders. Participation in the team promotes the physical and mental well-being of first responders and raises awareness of the volunteer fire service within the community. Games played also provide a venue to raise awareness and funds for other charitable purposes.
Suffolk Firefighters Hockey Club, Inc. is a domestic not-for-profit corporation incorporated under New York Consolidated Not-for-Profit Laws Article 402 and as defined in Not-for-Profit Corporation Law Section 102(a)(5). We are also recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and classified as a public charity. Donations, contributions, or gifts made to the team are deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
SCFFHC is made of of players from the Suffolk County Fire Service. We welcome Fire, EMS, volunteer, or paid status from any agency in the county to join us. Members of our group are offered opportunities for open ice sessions and other events throughout the year. Players are chosen by the captains for charity, exhibition, and tournament games based on the projected skill level of the event.
